SNMP management system called Ikarus provides graphical interface between administrator and managed GPON network. Ikarus is developed by OFA company for management and maintance of ZTE GPON networks.
Nowadays, many people so familiar about GPON. GPON is a next generation for Broadband Technologies from copper into optical connection. So GPON is better from previous generation like ADSL technologies.Using Optic as a medium connection make GPON is so powerful in delivering bandwidth than copper connection. Nowadays GPON is used for many Internet Service Provider to deliver their product like FTTH (Fiber To The home). Or sometimes that product can said with Triple-Play.
What’s the meaning of triple,, because nowadays some Provider using this products to deliver Three services like Internet / DATA / VPN, IPTV, and VOIP services. Here Example a Simple Topology: ONT is like an ADSL Modem, usually install at customer, and OLT is a Central operation where we can push configuration to deliver service to the customer.
